September 11-12, 2010  •  Emerson Park on Owasco Lake, Auburn, NY
TomatoFest is back for another year of great food, fresh local produce, terrific entertainment, creative crafts, and valuable information from nonprofit organizations. Best of all, proceeds from TomatoFest benefit local food pantries.
Join in the fun on September 11th and 12th as we celebrate our 25th anniversary! Special features this year include children's activities in the pavilion, wine tasting, and a golf ball drop with a grand prize of $5000. For a carefree day, park at Auburn High School on Lake Avenue and ride the free shuttle bus, courtesy of Centro, right to the main gate at Emerson Park. Admission to TomatoFest is $3 at the gate for adults and $1 for children. Children under 12 years of age are admitted free with the donation of a canned good.

Tomato Recipe Cook-off
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County once again is coordinating a Tomato Recipe Cookoff for amateur chefs who want to showcase their cooking talents.
Recipes submitted to the Tomato Recipe Cookoff are required to include fresh tomatoes as a major ingredient. The nutrition staff at Cooperative Extension will select 8 recipes to be prepared by the Cookoff finalists and judged by a panel of tasters. Each finalist will receive a gift basket. The top three recipe winners also will receive a gift certificate from a local business.
