Tomato Recipe Cook-off Winners
The winners in the TomatoFest Tomato Recipe Cook-off, held at Cornell
Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County, are:
1st: Nadine VandeWalker, Cicero, NY — Roasted Tomato Soup
2nd: Deborah Oliver, Auburn, NY — Fresh Tomato and Romano Cheese Pie
3rd: Lee Parker , Auburn, NY — Fresh Tomato and Cheddar Cheese Pie
First prize is a $200 gift certificate from the NY Wine and Culinary Center in
Canandaigua. Second prize is an overnight stay for two at Inn at the Finger
Lakes and dinner at Daut’s Restaurant. Third prize is a massage from Every Day
Massage.
Free samples of the winning Roasted Tomato Soup recipe
will be served at TomatoFest on Saturday, September 6,
from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Cornell Cooperative Extension tent.
